The association that manages the Bassersdorf wastewater treatment plant covers the municipalities of Bassersdorf, Lindau and Nürensdorf. In 2014, based on a range of surveys, the association decided to continue running its own wastewater treatment plant and to remain autonomous.
The plant had reached its capacity limit and advanced treatment requirements were decreed necessary, making an upgrade unavoidable. This included a capacity increase for the biological stage as well as construction of a new, additional treatment stage for eliminating micropollutants. In addition to this, comprehensive maintenance works were carried out on other parts of the plant.

TBF supported the association from the initial surveys to project completion and advised them on all issues concerning the project.
