Flooding in the Risch-Rotkreuz region has made it clear that sustainable protection measures are essential in the event of heavy rainfall. Especially in recent years, floods in Risch and Rotkreuz have revealed insufficient drainage capacities and highlighted the need for action to address the increasingly hazardous situation brought by more intensive rainfall. Flood protection measures, such as the construction of a new spillway and the new construction and upgrade of a culvert, are underway within the perimeter of the project to fully protect the endangered Risch-Rotkreuz municipal area.
