The process technology at the Rotzwinkel wastewater treatment plant has been updated and optimised in various stages. The heart of the project was the final stage, in which the old biological area was replaced by a new SBR reactor. Various components in the sludge line, such as piping, pumps, digestion tanks, gas tanks and ICE system components, were also replaced in this final stage.

TBF handled the overall project management as well as technical planning of the process engineering. Planning of the structural component and the ICE technology was carried out by two regional planning offices under the direction of TBF.
