BSR Straubing - New construction of sewage sludge utilisation plant
Straubing, Germany
The Biomasse Straubing (BSR) sewage sludge utilisation plant will be built on an undeveloped greenfield site at the Straubing sewage treatment plant. Designed for a treatment capacity of 108,000 tOS/a and 12,000 tDS/a, dewatered and fully dried sewage sludge from Straubing and the surrounding area will be received and thermally utilised at the plant. Following a positive referendum result, the next steps for the planning and construction of the plant were approved in 2019.
TBF is providing engineering services within the scope of planning, approvals and construction of the plant, starting with the tender process and awarding services to a general contractor (GC-PE) for the process engineering aspect of the plant. Following the awarding of services to the GC-PE, planning services ‒ for which TBF carries primary responsibility ‒ got under way for the building element. TBF supported the basic and detail engineering of the GC-PE and the approval procedure.
The project is currently on hold due to legal action against the approval decision.
