New waste incineration plant Cheneviers IV
Geneva, Switzerland
The Cheneviers IV project will see the construction of Geneva’s new waste-to-energy (WTE) plant with a total capacity of 160,000 tonnes per year. This new facility is being built on the same site as the existing part of the plant Cheneviers II, which will be torn down. Cheneviers III will continue to be operated while the construction work is underway, resulting in complex project phasing. After the construction phase, this part will also be torn down. The new WTE plant Cheneviers IV will comprise two waste processing lines that offer high technical and environmental performance while keeping within the project’s budget. Recovered energy will be used to produce electricity using a back-pressure turbine and deliver heat through a district heating system.
As part of the project engineering team, TBF is responsible for the design, coordination and construction supervision of the electromechanical lots and automation systems.
