The rapidly growing Affoltern development area in the north-west of the city of Zurich has been experiencing a large increase in population for over 15 years. To create additional capacity, bus route 32 on Wehntalerstrasse is being replaced by a 4 km tram line. This will give the Affoltern district a direct connection to the city centre. In addition, the Affoltern tram will create added value for public spaces as well as for cycling and pedestrian traffic.

TBF + Partner AG is commissioned to assist the client in this project. We are supporting the Zurich transport authority since the preliminary project, with a current focus on the planning approval procedure and the acquisition of rights and land, as well as the project communication.

In the realisation phase, we will continue to support the project under the lead of the Civil Engineering Office of the City of Zurich as client support and construction supervision.
