Limeco is building the first industrial-scale power-to-gas plant with biological methanation in Switzerland in Dietikon. The sewage gas produced in the WWTP is completely converted into green gas with the addition of hydrogen by means of biological methanation. The hydrogen is produced by electrolysis and renewable electricity from the local waste incineration plant.

The plant is a lighthouse project of national importance regarding the planned transformation of the energy system as part of the Energy Strategy 2050.

The building is designed as a prefabricated timber element structure, which is erected on a concrete table in cast-in-place concrete.

In addition to the overall project management, TBF is responsible for the technical planning of construction, building services and process engineering. During the building permit procedure, TBF prepared a noise assessment for the plant.
