Limmattalbahn
Limmattal region, Switzerland
The Limmattalbahn is a modern urban network connecting the municipalities of Zurich, Schlieren, Urdorf, Dietikon, Spreitenbach and Killwangen. As a tram line, it is connected to the VBZ (Verkehrsbetriebe Zurich) and AVA (Aargau Verkehr AG) networks. It will handle a large amount of additional future traffic and thus relieve roads and town centres. It improves access to the region, runs on its own lane 90% of the time and can accommodate up to 250 people. The Limmattalbahn supports modernisation in the area, both on a very local level as well as for the immediate and wider surroundings.
TBF has advised and provided support for Limmattalbahn since the start of the preliminary project and is looking forward to the initial run as well as the second phase in Aargau.
