Tram Bern West opens up the districts in the western part of the City of Bern, home to around 30,000 people and workplace to over 15,000 more. The approximately 6.8 kilometre route has 2 kilometres of its own track and goes to Brünnen Westside and to Bümpliz.

As general project manager from 2003 to 2007, we assisted in the design, project planning and political process, including two public votes.
To implement the tram project, the three clients (

BERNMOBIL, City of Bern and Energie Wasser Bern (ewb)) established a central, integrated unit under the name Tram Bern West AG, with TBF delivering external general project management and business management.

After around two and a half years of construction, the technical commissioning phase began. The first scheduled journey took place in December 2010. The results were monitored until 2015, which also provided data for future tram projects in Bern.
